On Monday, Sept 24th, Jessica turned 11 years old! My how time flies!! This birthday was especially fun since this is the first time she’s really been excited about her birthday. She had been anticipating and talking about it since early September and even mentioned a few presents that she would like (a definite first!). One day, a few weeks before her birthday, we were driving and she told me she wanted cake. I told her we didn’t have cake. She said “birthday cake.” I told her we didn’t have birthday cake, it wasn’t her birthday yet. She thought about that for a minute then declared “it’s Giggle’s birthday” (Giggles is her stuffed Goofy doll). Hmmm, nice try…but you’re still not getting cake today
